Supporting Local Businesses Drive to Zero Waste
The Copier Company, based in Vanguard Street in Nelson, is a locally owned and operated business that prides itself on being environmentally aware.
Their expertise in assisting businesses means they have a great reputation within the community. But The Copier Company had a growing issue with the volume of polystyrene which comes packed around the equipment they use. The business provides and supplies copier hardware and software solutions as well as technical support for businesses in Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast.
As a certified carboNZero company with Ricoh New Zealand The Copier Company has been working to reduce their businesses carbon emissions. This included reducing the amount of waste being sent to landfill. Hope Moulded Polystyrene has played a major part in enabling the Copier Company to do this by recovering and reusing the polystyrene. Hope Moulded Polystyrene carefully compacts the polystyrene then compacts this for export where it is reused mainly for manufacturing picture frames. Reducing the need for new material and eliminating a whole stream of waste for The Copier Company at the same time.
This has led to a significant reduction in The Copier Companies waste to landfill. Reducing this by a half to two thirds, and along with other initiatives, enabling the Copier Company to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
